Brownies go to the (cats) and dogs!

On 18th. February the 3rd. Catford Brownies visited Battersea Dogs & Cats Home as part of their Big Brownie Birthday Challenge. We took some treats for the dogs and cats with us and a donation. Here’s what some of the girls had to say about the day:

“We got on a train and Brown Owl left her bag on the train so she had to go back and get it” (this is completely true – still I was just teaching the girls what not to do!)

“When we got to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home we went upstairs in a room and we had a talk about Battersea. Then we had a workshop about how you approach a dog which is new to you.”

“Then the lady took us to see some of the animals. There were loads of dogs. I felt quite sad for them.”

“First we saw the ones that had a little cold and then the good ones.”

“My favourite one was called Bonnie and she was so cute.”

“Next we saw the cats and they were all behind a glass door, all of them were cute and well cared for.”

“None of the animals were starving. They were healthy.”

“Then we got to buy something. The money that we bought for the stuff helped the animals.”

“After that we went to the River Thames. It looked more like a beach than a river.”

“We went on the beach and we saw a sand sculpture of a crocodile eating a man. We played with the River Thames” (and got their feet very wet!)

“Then the leader of the Friday Brownies bought us doughnuts and then we travelled home.”

“We love Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.”

“It was a fantastic day.”
